BET Grabs Wendy Williams... More Drama To Ya!

After a successful (note the subjectivity of the word) four market (New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Detroit), six week debut "The Wendy Williams Show" will now call BET (Black Entertainment Television) home.  Wendy Williams, of "The Wendy Williams Experience" (from her shock jock days at New York radio station WBLS) and author of several books including New York Times Bestselling autobiography "Wendy's Got the Heat" is best known for her controversial style of discussion  and knack for being outrageously inappropriate (she's had past tiffs with Puff Daddy, Lil Kim, Angie Martinez AND Whitney Houston, to name a few (literally few).  Of course she doesn't disappoint (if you like mindless gossip and tack). No shortage of her former self, the talk show is chock full of all the elements that make us love to hate to love her!  She's raunchy and quite personal-never minces words and always has the best gaudy jewelry on!  Her boobs are everywhere!-fortunately she does have the magnetism to match.   I mean, don't we all have a trivial guilty pleasure. I think this is my new one.  Catch Wendy on BET weeknights at Midnight (12AM).

By the Way...Wendy, (light touch on the cheek)  is that your real face?

One of these things is not like the other...

still heart you though!

ILLAMASQUA MY MAKE UP COLLECTION!

A makeup brand that lives up to its slogan, Illamasqua is bonafide  "Makeup For Your Alter Ego".  The pigment is rich, the hues are vibrant and the finish is truly effervescent! Coverage like you need it, color like it's summer vacation and you nobody knows who you are -pure, uninhibited artistry for the face-I'm officially a collector -the creme blusher (in Libido) and the intense lipgloss are my favorite! And the nail varnish! The shades are so unique, even Chanel and NARS are getting a run for their money! (Forget OPI on this one) the no chip resistance is worth the $14!, especially if you've ever dreamed about your manicure lasting more than three days.  Absolutely beautiful items-  order on-line or get yours at Sephora in Georgetwon before the stock goes cold!

Lettie Gooch, For Your Style Pleasure

I wish it hadn't taken me so long to get in there!  Really my loss, and yours too if you don't put that on this Saturday's hop-shop list!  The ambiance is very low-key; not loud at all-(perfect for a weekend morning after some Starbucks), the window displays and dim lighting draw you in with a magnetism only true shoppers feel.  The minimalist shop has walls lined with amazing clothes for the swanky/posh/vintage- inspired/interesting urbanista, and cases full of very bold pieces of jewelry by various local designers.
The associates are lovely, professional and willing to offer great style advice.  In addition to a regular flow of seasonal merchandise, the owner also hosts extended trunk shows, in which a designer (sometimes who is local) has their collection featured and sold in store. Get some before it gets cold!

PS: Hey Leanne!

Another DC Halloween

"kitty in a blanket" photo by sarah patch
This Halloween was not unlike many others...my house was the only one on the block with the porch light on (is that old school yet?) and unfortunately, my niece couldn't trick or treat because she had a bad cold :(  Anyway, we girls did hit the streets as costume judges anonymous, and bore witness to a few, well...it's DC we can't help it!  BTW, nous nous masquillons!
